Gomery should have RCMP Options

I hope like hell that when Justice Gomery comes to his conclusions, as a judge and citizen of Canada living a comfortable life as a taxpayer in a lifestyle provided primarily by taxpayers, he is able to force the abusers of our money to pay it back. Even if they don't go to jail, they should pay it ALL back! They should also pay for the entire Gomery Inquiry and the costs encountered by the Auditor General of Canada.
Lay down the gauntlet, teach these sponsorship abusers at all levels to respect our tax dollars and to use them for CANADA and not their pitifull self-serving existences. They are already paid too much and maintain a lifestyle far above the "mean average" of people who work far harder than they. It is a travesty if they get away with stern tongue lashings and slaps on the wrists.
The Liberal party must also step forward to admit their wrong doing for them to ever stand a chance in Canada's future. The worse thing that has happened in my lifetime of following Canadian politics is that the watchdogs haven't been able to punish the unethical people who commit travesties against our country, which have been so blatently uncovered, recorded, noted, proven, etc.
Gotta go to work and EARN my living now...

Fred:

Glad to see you've joined the land of bloggers. Over at Fair Deal, I admire your stamina in carrying on any form of exchange with O'Brien.

These two posts above make me roll with laughter. Aside from the delusional comments of the Blogging Tory recruiter, I guess OttawaCon should be asking his own party when they plan to reimburse the people of Canada extorted by its operatives from successful contract bidders in Quebec in the 1980s.

Well done. I'll add you to my blogroll!

Hi Ed,

It's a pleasure to have you pop in. As for going back and getting blood from the crippled and defunct turnip once called the Conservative Party, I gave up on the thought of that reimbursement when they fell to their 2-3 seats.
They are still reaching for a place of authenticity in our government. The only reason the CPC is a big threat right now is because of the abuse to which Canadians perceive they have been subjected by the current/Liberal government.
As for the Liberal, more blatant and well documented, affront to Canadian taxpayers, I really believe that Martin knew as a staffer, as finance minister and for the last 8 or more years. Chretien knew it too. It was well known around their $100 per person lunch tables. They have all been living too high off our tax dollars for far too long. I take leftovers in plastic containers to work, so should they!
They gave themselves another raise while all this other crap was going on too! Bills C-33 thru 35 slipped through while we were all up in arms about every other travesty and liberty they took with our tax dollars. I think it was worded like, ...[they] would receive increases commiserate to private sector counterparts... or some such carte blanche abuse of authority. Making law about their pay being tied to leaders of industry in the civilian sector. They already gouge the Canadian public for a pension for 6 years service.

Anyways, this went on longer than I planned. I didn't research it thoroughly but I think I'm fairly close on the details.

I'm sure you'll correct me (or Liam will) if I am too far off the centre line...

What is Government?

Employees of the people.

Speaking on behalf of the people and adopting the beliefs and values of the peoples.

Obiously the people don't have a voice or at least not a UNIFIED one that the politicians are listening to and voicing on our behalf.

As for the beliefs and and values of the people Mr Martin showed by stating that the peoples values and beliefs can't be trusted because he refuses to allow the people have a referendum on same sex marriages. It would be discriminating LOL what do you think the landscape of our political system is if it isn't discriminating with 178 seats sitting in central canada.

It's a foregone conclusion Canada will be divided up! It's just a matter of time as it stands.

I think that you are wrong Expat. A foregone conclusion? How do you see this country dividing into little splinters of its former self?

Do people who think that a splintered Canada will remain 3-10 little countries? IT WON"T HAPPEN! There is no way that in this battle with terrorists that the Americans will allow a fractured country to guard its northern boarder. They will either lock it down completely or take it over. Canadians (and even the factions or provincial "countries") are too apathetic to yell at their current federal and provincial governments. What makes you think that the tiny little countries of "The Canada's" will fight against USA take-over to control a splintered Canada?

Do you honestly think that being an American would be a better alternative to creating understanding, growth and fairness in our existing country? Yes indeed we have our problems but at least they are not American problems.

Don't get me wrong the main reason I have become vocal is first for NL second for Canada.

I think it would be a travesty if Canada were to become divided.

I've been to places that have separated and done peace keeping it isn't a pretty picture. The one thing they would always bring up and try and relate with you, was our Quebec issue within Canada. Not the same, at least no yet.

But if some changes arent made and made soon to rectify the injustices and corruption of our political system then like I said Canada's break up is a foregone conclusion.

The government can't hide anymore the people are finding out the truth not from the sensored media but rather from the people themselves through Blog sites like yours and mine.

Mind you, my sky is tainted Green White and Pink as I'm sure Quebecs citizens sky is tainted Blue and White!

As for the Americans they have their own problems. They are a democracy and arent much different from ourselves. I still don't want to be one! Forcibly or peacfully. I would much rather be a Cuba.

Hey who knows we could even join with Russia? They are only over the horizon and with global warming in the artic the shipping lanes will be open in ten years if not sooner, assuming the globe doesn't self destruct or were not all fried from UV rays.

Methan gases from a thawing bog in northern russia? Read here
